The Whiting School’s Office of Research assists faculty, staff, and students with research-related concerns, administers the School's conflict of interest and research integrity policies, and addresses intellectual property and technology transfer issues. Through the Director of Industrial Initiatives, the office also facilitates interactions between the Whiting School and industry.

“One thing that makes an entrepreneur successful is the ability to forecast down the road,” says alumna Wendi Hawk. After creating a boutique IT company, she successfully merged it with a large firm just before the IT industry faced a halt in progress that crushed many small firms.
